A mid-August breeze
a swirl of memories
they scatter through the air
I reach out but nothing's there

Arms open waiting for the sun
I took a bite I think I'll take another one
The sun won't rise so I'll make it by myself
I think I got it but I can never tell

Oh no! I don't! Can you help me
with this boulder I've been pushing lately?
Oh no! Don't let go! It's rolling
back to the bottom where it's always waiting so

I went underneath
and shuffled through the leaves
with hands in the dirt
I grab it by the roots and I rip that vein right up and out the Earth

Arms open waiting for the sun
I took a bite I think I'll take another one
The sun set rise so I'll make it by myself
There it goes

And with the dark
come out the stars
an excess of gas collapsed into vibrant burning hearts
and they're so heavy they can't help but swing us
around
and out
then back in the ground

We stepped out the sea
we choked and fought to breath
but there's no memory
just the immediacy
what could it all mean?

I think it means we should hold this together
Do what we love and work for the better
Take the time to stop and enjoy the weather
So let's laugh out loud and just push on forever
